Vince Young Helps E3 Alliance, Hays CISD Kickoff Flu Vaccination Campaign.
Development Officer Vincent Young was on hand at Ralph Pfluger Elementary in Hays CISD for the kickoff of the Teach Flu a Lesson campaign. Also helping out were E3 Alliance Executive Director Susan Dawson and Health and Human Services Commissioner Chris Traylor. Each talked about the importance of keeping students healthy and attending school by getting a flu vaccine.
This is the second year of the largest school-based immunization campaign in Texas. Twenty-six thousand vaccines are being offered free of charge to students in 136 schools in nine Central Texas districts. The campaign is a collaborative effort between E3 Alliance, Healthy Schools, LLC, Schoolhouse Pediatrics, St. David’s Foundation, Central Health, Superior Healthplan and the school districts.
Administering vaccines directly to students in schools at no cost has proven to be an effective way to increase vaccination rates for students in our region to keep them healthy, while protecting their families from illness and saving lost time away from school and work.
